running + wrapping

Hope you’re all having a great weekend! I finally finished up Christmas shopping yesterday and got some wrapping done this morning while watching The Family Stone.

After church this morning, I swung by TJ’s and picked up some ingredients to make pizza tonight!

Speaking of a TJ’s win, my final Secret Santa gift included TWO bottles of TJ’s wine. I was so pumped since our grocery stores don’t sell wine and I can’t buy the $2 goodness on the reg. So that was definitely a good start to the weekend!

Friday evening, Brent and I ventured to Carrabba’s since I had a gift card from my birthday. The food was good but not worthy of photographs, so here’s a picture of my champagne instead!

Saturday morning, I woke up with plans for a long run (I realized I’m running a half marathon in about a month, oops!). I ended up running 10 miles. I rarely plan how far I’m going to run, so when I ran out of water around mile 6, I lucked out and a local sporting goods store, Athlete’s House, saved me with this:

After my run, I cleaned up and headed out to finish Christmas shopping. First, I thawed out with a grande misto from Starbucks

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/92c/79404051/files/2014/12/img_3330.jpgI avoided purchasing anything for myself at lululemon (high five!) and then met up with Brent for lunch at Kay Bob’s. This place is amazing. I had a flatbread sandwich with blackbean hummus and a side of their homemade sweet potato chips

Saturday afternoon, I went to see my brother in Cool Springs. I needed beer to refuel from my run, obviously, so Cool Springs Brewery hit the spot.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/92c/79404051/files/2014/12/img_3334.jpgBest beer ever. It’s called Santa’s Buns and tastes just like Christmas. My brother ordered some pretzels which I appreciated for re-carbing purposes.

We finished up there, and I was off to a Christmas party! They even had a nice wrapping paper backdrop for pictures #bloggersdream

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/92c/79404051/files/2014/12/img_3349.pngI may have given in to the dogs’ begging a few times… They deserved some cheese for wearing Christmas bows!

Back to the PIZZA!! I may or may not have used an empty wine bottle as a rolling pin. Quinoa Pesto base (and Christmas socks!).

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/92c/79404051/files/2014/12/img_3357.jpgAdd a little pizza sauce, tomatoes, pizza seasoning

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/92c/79404051/files/2014/12/img_3358.jpgDollops of ricotta, spinach & mozzarella

Finished product:

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/92c/79404051/files/2014/12/img_3365.jpgSo delicious!! Paired with some Home Alone… Perfect night.

I’m really looking forward to being home for Christmas (especially since I missed Thanksgiving)! I haven’t been back to Memphis since October, so I’m ready to be back and see everyone:) Have a great night!

What are your plans for the holidays/Christmas?

Have a good run this weekend? Or a bad one??

Adding egg to your pizza.. Yay or nay?
